Last Year's Heathwood Hall Winterim - March 2015

Last year, Heathwood Hall Episcopal School took 15 Upper School students to the Rensing Center from Monday-Friday for Winterim.  Our Upper School students spend a week each March pursuing an interest that will broaden their educational experience.  The Winterim curriculum focuses on five main areas: Academic and Cultural Enrichment, Leadership, Service, Wilderness Education, and Internships. Students are required to choose one of these areas each year and at least one internship during their four years.  Winterim experiences are local, national and international.
While at the Rensing Center (March 2015) with Heathwood Hall faculty, Scotty Peek and Raven Tarpley, students wrote stories, songs, and created visual artworks which were mostly self-directed as a typical Artist Residency would be.  As we prepare to bring a dozen new art students to Rensing next week, we’ve been reflecting on last year’s experience.
